One to one time with me
Often in sobriety we need the support of someone who’s been there before us. Navigating many aspects of life for the first time as a sober person can be difficult and challenging. The people we used to go may no longer understand or be able to provide support in the way that we need. My aim is to help you discover how to do this for yourself, to develop your confidence and awareness so that living sober becomes natural for you. I believe that deep down we have the answers but that we need to learn how to trust ourselves, many of us for the first time.
My approach is to work with you on creating stability for where you are now, building the structures you need to have in place and developing longer term habits that will sustain you. I work with people who have been sober a while as well as those attempting to get sober.
I combine 20 years of NLP business coaching with my years in AA and therapy to provide sober support. I am also an accredited sober coach with The Sober Club. I will share all aspects of my experience with you as well as exploring new offerings and opportunities to support your growth.

When I finally committed to becoming fully alcohol-free later in life, little did I know what immense growth and blooming were still ahead for me. Louise becoming my mentor/coach has been just the right gardener I needed to cultivate this new me. With her empathy, wisdom, encouragement, and conversational style, I have uncovered wounds and holes that I had spent a lifetime tucking away. As Louise helps me learn to poke and honor these scars, and the little girl who did her best to survive them, I am becoming myself. A self who is ready to embrace this second act, with my face toward the sky. In full bloom.”

“Louise has been my mentor for a number of years. I once approached Louise to find out more about how she had dealt with challenges in her life and soon realised Louise has a lot to share. Louise is honest and if the path is difficult she'll let you know, but it comes with massive rewards. I use to dwell and procrastinate on things from my past that shaped how I dealt with the now, but I've overcome that. Louise has a large toolbox of approaches, tips and advice which has meant I've continued to reach out when I've come across a home or work challenge I needed guidance on. Louise has got me out of a few low points, including supporting me to ace an interview during a particularly hard time at work. Louise's support is invaluable and continues today.”

“Louise brings so much wisdom and insight to our mentoring sessions. She has helped me deepen my sobriety journey and given me a new perspective on my sobriety. I look forward to each week and having her walk right beside me. I feel extremely blessed to work with Louise and could not recommend her more highly.”

“I love working with Louise as my mentor in sobriety. Her wisdom and insights are priceless. Louise has been very practical with me, helping me form an actual road map for my sober journey. When we meet we share thoughts, feelings, and talk about the actions I need to take to get and stay sober. Her approach is personalized to me which appeals to my belief that “one size fits all” is not for me. I’ve known the “Why” I want sobriety but I have never had the “How”—Louise is helping me finally figure out my “How” to stay sober. What a joy and a relief to have her on my team.”

“Louise is captivating when she talks, when I first heard her she made me sit up straight and listen. She's relatable, and she understands.
After hearing her speak many times, i wanted to learn more from her, I was thrilled to find out she offered one on one coaching. Navigating life after addiction, Louise offers kind, honest guidance with no BS.
Highly recommend bringing Louise on your journey with you..“

“I reached out to Louise because I was looking for wisdom, guidance and years of experience and advice from someone who has lived an extensive alcohol-free life. For me, with family history around addiction and years of questioning, therapy, coaching and other modalities, I wanted to explore the mentor/mentee relationship. All the options left me perplexed or confused. My truth today is that I am finding our exchange very profound, useful, supportive and at this juncture of my life–very appropriate. She carefully and respectfully nudges me along my journey. She is steadfast and inquisitive and very real/creative in her expression and sharing of her own personal and relative struggles along the path–always filled with a variety of suggestions around approach and direction. Louise has allowed me to feel less alone with all those decisions; she has creatively opened up doors and invited me in–to sit and ponder. Together. She has a calming, loving and ever-constant presence.
The mentoring experience with Louise has been super valuable and heart-felt; a passage of trusted support along most likely the most important spiritual journey of my life. “

“I stopped drinking after a lifetime that revolved around it. I did so by following the advice of others who had gone before me. So, when I was advised by a trusted counselor to seek out someone to talk to on a regular basis, I did so and found Louise. Louise is an honest woman who I can relate to.
As my mentor, Louise listens to me and gives me feedback on my growth that I would not notice otherwise. She asks me questions of myself that I didn’t know needed asking.
I find immense and joyful gratitude for Louise, her approach to life, and her role in mine. I look forward to visiting with her each time. I look forward to my life today!”

“When I reached out to Louise for mentoring, I was looking for help with my emotional sobriety. I felt like the recovery groups helped solidify my physical sobriety, but there was a piece missing. I wasn't feeling connected.
Louise unlocked, for me, the ingredient I was missing in my recovery: re-finding and using my voice. The moment this happened, when I felt seen and heard, my perspective shifted: I am happier and freer. Before, I was hiding by remaining silent and unattached. In finding my voice, I am rediscovering the person I left behind by drinking. While this will take some more guidance from her and practice by me, I am more encouraged than I've ever been.
I trust her because she has the utmost faith in the miracles of recovery, and has been a witness to and supporter of mine.”

“I let go of alcohol over 3 years ago now and have been working with Louise for the past 6 months. When I decided to work with Louise I was interested in finding someone that was ahead of me on the journey and would work with me to do the next level of personal work that was in front of me.
Louise is someone who holds great space for people, she is generous in sharing of her own experience, in letting people know what she is working on and even while in process open to sharing how she is thinking about it, approaching it and living through it. She does a great job of listening to what is said and often what is not said, and has a knack for putting words to what is happening. Louise is also aware of the levels at which something might be functioning and is adept at being aware of what the root cause may be as well as helping to untangle the layers for me to work at the deepest levels. I find this to be an effective container for whatever work I need to do. Louise also has a great sense of humour, about her own life and where appropriate about the human condition and this often lightens the load. “

“Reaching out to Louise for mentoring is one of the smartest self-care things I've ever done. I came looking for support strengthening and deepening my sober life, to learn more about how do I do that? I understood emotional sobriety conceptually; how do I do that? I'm learning it's about being - being myself - really, more than doing. Mentoring with Louise feels like a partnership; I bring my questions and wonderings, she meets me where I am, we talk, explore, and figure out next steps together. I love how she shares herself, her experience and wisdom. And most essentially her gentle compassion makes it a safe space for me to be vulnerable (which doesn't come easily) and talk from deeply tender and hidden-to-the-outside places. We also laugh a lot. I feel like I'm becoming more me thanks to our work together.”

I have partnered with Louise for 1:1 sober mentoring for the past several months. We met through her work in the online sober community The Luckiest Club (TLC). I also am in therapy. My therapist is a psychologist with a broad knowledge base. Sober mentoring with Louise goes deeper into exploring 'my thing' which has been drinking alcohol. Louise has personal experience with alcohol and has many years of living a sober life. She helps me find gratitude for all the small and large victories of day to day life. I share a gratitude list with her every night - and she shares hers with me. She holds me accountable. She has shown me how to accept alcohol as my thing, live life honestly, the value of building a network of sober people, the importance of finding creativity and physical exercise, and the importance of having a strong spiritual connection. I am grateful for the opportunity I have to work with Louise. She gets it. She has incredible compassion for people who are questioning their relationship with alcohol. If you are questioning your relationship with alcohol and want to learn how to live a sober life, I highly recommend Louise for sober mentoring. She will not only show you how to live a sober life, she will hold you close to her heart through it all.

“My time with Louise is such a joy. I am privileged to enjoy the support of a very active recovery community but I needed a dedicated space where I could go a bit deeper. I wanted to really delve into aspects of sobriety - and life - that required some more concentrated effort. I came to Louise at a crossroads in my life - I was ready to bring forward the lessons learned from decades of addiction and enter into a new phase of my life. I felt a little lost as to how exactly to do that. I needed the competent guidance of someone I trusted implicitly. Louise's mature and thoughtful insights - and her unfailing sense of humor - have been a perfect fit for me.”

I reached out to Louise via email at 8:40pm on Friday, April 19, 2024. That was the end of another day of many where I decided to stop drinking. The following morning, when I woke up, an email from Louise was waiting for me with an invitation to talk.
Louise listened to me as I shared where I was and what I no longer wanted to be. She shared her story with me. Louise was both compassionate and practical, understood what I was facing and assured me that hope was not lost. The miracle for me was the trust I felt as she generously agreed to work with me. That evening she shared with me the list of things she was grateful for that day and in turn, because she was willing to trust in me, I shared what I was grateful for in my day with her.
Louise taught me to take life and the things that life brings slowly and gently. Through our discussions I began to identify my core values and to focus on caring for myself in ways I had never done before. I began to start each day by meditating or journaling - even for just five or ten minutes. When I find myself feeling discomfort, I remember her telling me that all I need to do each day is to put my head on the pillow sober. Through her wisdom I came to understand all the distractions I gave my energy to that were not within my control or not serving me. She very kindly shared insights and perspectives that helped me to move on from and let go of unhelpful thought patterns and situations. I also took her course, Finding Faith in Sobriety – which helped me to welcome the comfort and strength of prayer and my faith. The daily prayers and small group sessions provided me with a source of healing that I didn’t realize has been waiting for me to be ready. Each day since I met Louise, I feel stronger, I have put my head on the pillow sober and thanked God. I am grateful.Jill
